A Love Story

I am a horrible person.

I have sinned. Done things no one would be proud of. Said regrettable things.
Entertained unrighteous thoughts. Doubted relentlessly. Hateful.

That’s the story I would write about myself.

But God spun a different tale. And this story begins at the end.

We all seem to be waiting for something to happen so we can feel love.
But something already did happen. 200o years ago, Jesus died and He came back to life.
The greatest act of love.

Because of that end to death, we can begin. Even if it means beginning again, and again…

Now my story reads something along the lines of…

Once a slave to fear, now freed.
Redeemed and hopeful.
Striving to think things that are pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.
A girl feeling unworthy now adopted by the King, obtaining an inheritance unimaginable.
A little scarred, but is called beautiful.

It’s too good to be true. Like I have stepped into a fairytale.

And this is and can be your story too.
It won’t play out exactly like mine; Cinderella isn’t like Belle, and Belle is no Rapunzel.
God is writing your story. And through it all, the main theme, is love.
Because God is love, you are loved.
And in the end, we all are given a kind of happily ever after.

“The Lord your God is with you; the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you; His love will no longer rebuke you,
but rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

I promise you that you are not too far gone.
There is no depth too deep or place to dark that Christ doesn’t see you.
You are not too broken that you can’t be put back together.
There is nothing you can do that makes it that you’re not worthy of love.

“Nothing in creation will separate us from God’s love for us.” Romans 8:39
